THE INDEPENDENT MAMAS: WHY I STARTED DIVORCE RECOVERY COACHING
Hello! Welcome to The Independent Mamas Blog. I’m Sarah, the Founder of The Independent Mamas, Divorce Recovery Coach and Independent Mama to two young boys.
Throughout my career, I have always been naturally drawn to roles that have centred around helping and supporting families through difficult, and even traumatic, times in their lives. However, due to the constraints of my role, I have only been able to provide a preliminary level of support when a more in-depth, holistic and bespoke approach was needed for the family. I had been searching for the career that could offer me this level of personal and job satisfaction when my personal circumstances underwent a dramatic change.
After 12 years together, my husband and I separated. I was devastated. I felt overwhelmed worrying about how I was going to cope emotionally, practically and financially. Overnight, I had to become more resilient and rebuild my life for the sake of my boys and myself. I completely underestimated the enormity of this task and how divorce would impact on all areas of my life, personally and professionally. I struggled to make sense of everything, did not know where to start, or how to make improvements in my life. I realised that I would have hugely benefited from a coach or a mentor to guide me through towards a better future.
With a background in Psychology and a determination to support other mothers going through the emotionally exhausting recovery from divorce, I realised that I could offer the holistic and bespoke support to families that I had always yearned for. To support this goal, I achieved qualifications in Neurolinguistic Programming and became both an NLP Practitioner and NLP Coach.
I have set up The Independent Mamas to coach mothers to realise their own strength, feel empowered to reinvent themselves and build a healthier and more prosperous future for themselves and their children following divorce.
The Independent Mamas is not just a coaching business but a community of strong women supporting each other, sharing how they have recovered and celebrating their achievements.
